The float,
given proof.

Same great taste.

A 130-year-old dessert, five generations of good times, and one bottle that tastes exactly like it.

  1. 1893 A Colorado brewer drops vanilla ice cream into root beer. The float is born.
  2. 1920s Counters, spinning stools, striped straws. The float becomes a Saturday ritual.
  3. 1950s Chrome, checkerboard floors, a jukebox that takes a nickel. Peak float.
  4. Since The float keeps showing up. Drive-ins, county fairs, backyard summers, the back of the freezer.
  5. Today Whiskey Pop. The float, given proof. Blended and bottled in San Diego County.

A word from the counter

Here's the thing nobody at the counter noticed: the float was already halfway to a whiskey. Vanilla, caramel and baking spice already live in whiskey. Sarsaparilla, vanilla and cream were waiting on the other side of the counter. Put them together and nothing has to be forced.

So we didn't force it. Whiskey Pop is real whiskey with natural root beer and vanilla flavors. No syrup, no dairy, nothing to shake or stir. Seventy proof. The first sip tastes unmistakably like a root beer float. We're not kidding.
